G-U pairs often work the best if placed next to two A-U pairs

I have seen that when U bases alternate the best way to get a G-U pair in is to replace an A base with G base. When you have the stack AU UA AU UA you should change it to AU UG AU UA. Never place G-U near each other. The helpful act of the GU is then useless

Good that you are making some observations about what works and what does not. Later you will discover that GU’s don’t hate each other too much, if you place them in line after each other.
