Split the challenges into more levels. Level 0 makes me feel tremendously foolish. It doesn’t hurt anything to have a whole bunch of levels for the challenges so that people can feel they’re making progress. They’re used to that hand-holding from Facebook games and others, but the companies like Zynga are experts at hooking people and getting them to keep coming back. One of the ways they do that is to keep the next level within easy reach.

So the idea is to create a smoother transition from the tutorials to the early challenges? This is a good idea. It’s now feature 178 in the bug tracker.
