I talked with astromon for a while earlier through Discord, and then I noticed that when he inputs < or > it shows me their html code (ie <). I wrote that in it, and then the chat stopped showing things from where I wrote the 'http://imgur.com/a/T86OK

This is a long standing bug in the Flash client, due to how it parses HTML tags. The reason why you didn’t see the angle brackets normally is because they are converted to HTML entities by the Flash client before messages are sent to the server. In order to fix this issue, the chat needs to be flooded with messages until the offending message is no longer in the history kept by chat, then all clients need to be reloaded (ie, the page refreshed) before messages will be displayed again. This is not the case with the new HTML chat once it is released, but obviously that hasn’t launched yet.
