Tertiary Structure

The biologically active RNA’s are in a tertiary configuration. How close are secondary and tertiary configurations? I.E. How easy is it to extrapolate from a secondary structure to a tertiary structure? How is this determined?

I’m no specialist, but I’m rather confident that many would agree that it’s anything but easy. Still, there are methods out there, I’d suggest visiting this site to get an idea

Thank you, Will check this out.

Its still tough to go from secondary to tertiary structure – e.g., check out this paper:

But we’re figuring out plans to include RNA 3D design in a later version of EteRNA…
